A calm grooming rhythm

Cavoodle coats can vary from loose waves to dense curls. The curlier the coat, the easier it is for small knots to hide behind ears, under collars, around the armpits, and near the tail. A calm routine prevents grooming from becoming a battle.

Aim for a few short brushing sessions each week instead of one long session when the coat is already tangled. Use a slicker brush gently, then follow with a comb to check that you are reaching through the coat rather than only smoothing the top layer.

Ears deserve special attention. Cavoodles can be prone to wax build-up and irritation, especially if their ears stay damp after baths or rainy walks. You do not need to over-clean, but you should check regularly for redness, smell, or scratching.

Professional grooming every six to eight weeks is a sensible baseline for most Cavoodles. Keep the face tidy, trim around the paws, and choose a practical coat length that suits your climate and lifestyle.
